November 2009.
We started doing the hard work.
No man’s land – all this had to be turned over. |
Where do we start –maybe over there? |
We started to pull out the big weeds and tall grass. |
|
Most of this area had bricks and stones and we decided to keep these for rubble for future pathways around the beds.
|
After all the hard work from all the blessed volunteers –we covered the finished ground with plastic sheets ready for the following year. |
Right lets go for a well deserved brew ……… |

MANURE!!!!!! arrgh – peg your noses if you please. |
We had a wonderful successful 2 years. During the years members who are not interested in allotment digging or preparation work, came down and gave a hand with brewing up, someone came and sat sketching on the patio, relaxing on the chairs of the patio set which has been donated by a local business. Others members came harvesting strawberries. Lots of knowledge has been learned about planting, feeding, harvesting and also making and using our own compost. Keep watching this space for next years developments.
